Well, it's been awhile since I last wrote here. Sorry, school was being a pain to the very end and then I had to deal with applying to Universities and travelling. For all of you who have never applied to a University: it's a pain. A HUGE one, even if most of the applications could be done online. I did about 20 in a space of three days and... *sigh* I'm so glad I'm finished now. Actually, I'm thrilled, because I now have a good chance of getting into Vet school. Which would be awesome, because it's something I've wanted to do since I was three. So sixteen years it's been a dream and now I might actually get to do it! Yes! This is going to be a fanfic summer. Not only do I have all these challenges to write *coughs* Yeah, Jen went a bit overboard there... But I also have ideas for longer fics. And I've gotten back into HP, which is...strange. I mean, I haven't been really active in it in years and now, all of the sudden, I'm back into it again. I accidentally stumbled across and read a Hermion/Tom Riddle fic (yes, yes, I know that's squeamish) but I actually liked it and now I think it's my crack pairing. You know, not my OTP (good Lord, that's H/Hr and always will be) but it's something fun to mess with. Because, it's NEVER going to happen, but, well, if you think about the two of them, it sort of...works. In a really odd way. *coughs* HH-H/Hr-Harry/Hermione: Now THAT is a pairing that I will always believe in. I know that there's some interview around with JKR about how it's never going to happen. But since I hated OOTP and HBP isn't that high on my list either... I don't care. Plus, even if Ron and Hermione do get together and whatnot *shudder*, it doesn't mean that they have to STAY together, you know? There's a reason the divorce rate is so high. Teenage loves rarely work out, so who's to say that they're going to stay together? IF they actually get together, that is, because nothing is certain. This is JKR, after all, who loves to trick and torture readers. So yeah. Not holding my breath on the Hr/R thing- I won't believe it until I read the final page of book 7 and even then, I'll just write and read post Hogwarts fics or AU. I love AU... Anyways, typing on an American keyboard is getting annoying (put my freaking z and y and / and ' in the right place!), so I think I'm going to stop now. Hopefully in a few days I should have some more fics to post here. I hope... Tags: h/hr, rant, update

I have finall started Chapter 8 of GBTY! I am so thrilled. Finally, I'm getting progress done on it... I'll post what I have done so far at the end of this message. Give you all a sneak pre-view. *grins* Well, if anyone's reading this, that is. I've also got to get writing on my Bartimaeus Trilogy fics. I have several that I owe, but, dunno, Bartimaeus is so hard to get at first. I think I need to re-read the books again for research. *grins* Need to get writing CSI and House again. I owe so many House fics and need to update my two in progress CSI fics. At least BMVD only has a chapter or two left. Once I finish it, it will be my first completed fic. That's...strange, when you think that I've been writing for the last six years. Actually, it's not really a good thing... Anyways, need to get working, now that I don't have school. This little fic was written for ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) daily15's word prompt of lyrical. The challenge was to write a fic in 15 minutes using the word of the day. This..actually wasn't hard, once I figured out where I wanted to go with it. And it's also gnawing at me to make it into a larger fic...
She's positively lyrical about it, Meg thinks bitterly. As if she's trying to rub it in her face. Which, Meg decides, is definitely possible. Serena is nothing if not cheerfully sadisitic. And it pi- annoys her to...heck. Remember, no swearing, think postively. Not that she really wants Dana to hear her language. Even if it's just her thoughts. Because you never can be sure what infants are thinking. And now that she's caring for Dana alone, she realizes how different everything is. Being a mom... she never contemplated it before she got pregnant. But now that she has Dana... Her life has a whole other meaning. If Serena doesn't keep on interfering. It's not her fault that Dan died. It was a freak accident. It was pure luck that she wasn't in the car too. And, because of that luck, Serena figured that it was completely her fault. If only she could make Serena see... She knows that Serena and Dan were as close as a brother and sister could be. She knows how hard it is to lose someone. Didn't she lose Dan as well? But instead, Serena decides that as Dan's fiance, not wife, she should suffer. Dana starts to fuss and she bounces her on her knee. Dana- the last thing she has of Dan's. The one thing that Serena hasn't been able to take away- yet. Not that she isn't trying. Not that she isn't succeeding, if this meeting is any clue. "You're eighteen, Miss Ferris. You have a three month-old. You are currently enrolled in Community College, living in a three-room apartment with five others. You work two jobs. And you tell me that you believe you can care for Dana Rickers better than Mrs. Evans can?" Meg looks up and meets the social worker in the eye. "She's my daughter, Mrs. Neuman. I have to." I have the attention span of a gnat. Seriously. I can't sit still- well, I can force myself to, but it's absolutel torture- and I'm always trying to do multiple things at once. And then I try to write fan fic. Is it any wonder that NONE of my fics are actually finished? No? Good. Didn't think so. So...I got another idea for a fic. And I took on three Chase-Challenge prompts (does it matter that I've never written the guy before? No? Good.) And I've got 26 alphabetasoup propmts- if they ever approve me, that is- 46 housefic50 prompts, 100 ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) 100women prompts, 100 bodyandsoul prompts, and X number of everyfiveyears prompts. Oh, and I'm biting nails (literally) to refrain from signing up for anymore. Because, God, I WANT to. But, regardless of that, here are some plots that are going through my head. Wilson/Cameron (really, expect anything different from me?): Cameron's husband doesn't die. And neither does she miscarry/the baby die (since the show never really said which...). So Ben (yeah, I named him Ben) and Cameron are living a nice life and all, when Cameron takes the fellowship at PPTH, what happens... It'll be dark. It'll be angsty. And remember, tumors even if they go into remission, can come back... I think it's an original plot scenario. I *hope* so, at least. Now I just need to figure out how to begin it... Like all fics, I always find the beginnings the worst. I'm debating a fic where Wilson was the one who treated Ben, even if he died. I dunno if I'm going to mix the two plots or not. So much to contemplate... Another fic I'm thinking about is from an entirely new fandom- Bartimaeus Triology. Finished the last book last night, LOVED it, cried at the end and now want to write it so that it comes out relatively happy. Some plot points would be: Nathaniel doesn't die at the end. He's weak, he's battered, and the staff sent him to an alternate universe and into a coma. He wakes up ten years later, only remembers his name and nothing else. Kitty, on the other hand, explored the world, ended up as a Researcher for the Council, married this guy and has kids. Her twelve year-old son, Nathaniel, has magic himself, as well as a certain resilience (Kitty's husband was a lower magician) and decides to summon something to help him when the kids in his class are giving him trouble. Well, three guesses who he summons and the first two don't count. Bartimaeus is back, shocking everyone, since he's thought dead. And yeah, Nathaniel finally finds a way to come back to his proper world and things get...messy. Because yeah, Kitty's married and has a family- but the feelings haven't exactly gone away. Horrid summary, I know. But it's the fruit of my imagination at 3:15 am this morning, while I was lying in bed, trying to get to sleep and unable to, because I kept bursting out in tears because of the end of the book! Yes, I'm blaming my night of sleeplessness on Plotmey's Gate...mature, I know. I also wrote one heck of a depressing, angsty, dark fic last night. I'm posting it here, under a lj-cut. Warnings: Character death, suicide, blood, and a hell of a lot of guilt. Oh, and allusions to inter-martial affairs and depression. Title: Scarlet Tree Author: Me- Jen/Alethia/Jennie/Jenn- there's an entire platoon of pennames I've gone by over the years... Characters/Pairings: Allusions to Cameron/Wilson, House/Cameron. If you read it the right way, you'll probably find sutble House/Wilson undertones. Rating: PG-13. Prompt: 043. And no, I wasn't depressed or anything like that. I was just...watching Once in Mexico on TV and IMing with friends and yet I managed a really terribly angsty and depressing fic. Huh. The thing is- it's a one-shot and vague and all that, but I want to write more. I want to write the kid's life, how Wilson manages to survive- or if he doesn't- what really happened between him and Cameron and what led to her suicide... I just don't know if I can.
